Planning Underway
For more than 10 years, progress on Stonecrop Park has been stalled due to insufficient grading and the need for a comprehensive soil-filling plan. I have been advocating for the City to move this project forward so the park can advance toward development.

While a fill plan was recently completed, details regarding the proposed scope of work, grading and drainage requirements, site access, restoration, funding, and the anticipated schedule are still being finalized. It is important for residents to know that the fill plan identifies the need for a significant volume of fill to enter the site – while all efforts will be made to manage this with limited disruption to the community, residents should expect a steady flow of truck traffic into the site and street sweepers once the plan is initiated (aiming for 2027 if funded).

I will share updates as the City’s planning work progresses, funding and the project scope and timeline are confirmed. Given the passage of time, I will be asking staff to reengage residents to ensure the park plans reflect today’s needs.
