August 6 – 8th Line Rd – Sidewalk Rehabilitation
Sidewalk rehabilitation work in Metcalfe is scheduled to begin on the west side of 8th Line Road at Byron Avenue on August 6, 2026 followed by the east side of 8th Line Road on August 11, 2026. The work is expected to take approximately two days at each location. In addition, the entrance to St. Catherine School has been added to the project scope due to its poor condition and will be repaired as part of the current contract.
Work on one side will be completed before crews begin on the opposite side. During construction, the affected sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians, and a signed detour will be in place. Please follow all posted signage and use caution around the work area.

Minor Sidewalk Renewal Projects
The City of Ottawa will be undertaking localized sidewalk renewal projects, with construction scheduled for completion in 2026. Two locations within our ward have been identified for this work:
- 8th Line Rd – From Russell St. to Eldo St
- 8th Line Rd – From Lloyd Graham Ave. to Byron St.
