Osgoode Ward is a uniquely rural part of south Ottawa, where agriculture, wide-open landscapes, and village life create a community that’s both welcoming and full of pride. Home to Metcalfe, Greely, Osgoode, Vernon, Carlsbad Springs, Edwards, Vars, Marionville, Kenmore, and Manotick, the ward blends country charm with plenty to enjoy—local farms, markets, community events, and small businesses that keep our rural character strong. With over 33,000 residents and 813 km of roads (705 km paved and 109 km gravel) connecting our villages and countryside, Osgoode Ward is a place where neighbours look out for neighbours—and where there’s room to live, work, and grow.
Our villages are the heart of Osgoode Ward, and they deserve investment that fits rural realities. I’ll push a stronger rural lens at City Hall, support local improvements without one-size-fits-all urban standards, and expand recreation opportunities across the ward. Priorities include arena and community centre upgrades, advancing park projects, improving walkability and traffic calming, supporting seniors to age in place, and making it easier for local businesses and farmers to navigate approvals so communities feel connected and villages can grow.
Getting the fundamentals right starts with listening to residents and being clear about how decisions are made. My priorities will focus on core rural services roads, ditching, emergency response, and traffic safety guided by community input. I will increase transparency on development projects (including Carlsbad Springs and Tewin), publish clearer service-level data, and work to improve rural emergency response times.
Osgoode Ward’s agricultural roots and rural lifestyle are strengths to protect and promote. I’ll reduce barriers that slow farm operations, strengthen understanding of agriculture through education and outreach, and support tourism and agri-tourism—festivals, markets, fairs, museums, and family attractions. We’ll also back responsible rural recreation and community beautification projects, helping position Osgoode Ward as one of Ottawa’s true rural gems.
