I’m pleased to share that, as part of Ottawa’s 200th anniversary celebrations, civic events grants have been awarded to both the Manotick Village Community Association and the Osgoode Youth Association. Through the Civic Events Funding Program, these organizations will bring meaningful, community‑driven celebrations to life in our neighbourhoods. The Manotick Village Community Association will host a Canada Day community celebration featuring Indigenous performances, historic games, youth activities, storytelling, and a drone show highlighting Manotick’s connection to Bytown and the Rideau Canal. The Osgoode Youth Association is planning a vibrant block party event that will combine performances, hands‑on activities, local history displays, and storytelling that connects Osgoode’s rich heritage to the broader Bytown story. I’m truly looking forward to attending both events and celebrating Ottawa’s bicentennial alongside our community.
There were 138 applications for the Civics Events stream of which 33 community events across the City received the grant. For a complete list of recipients and details about each grant, visit: Ottawa 200 Grant Recipients & Project Summaries
