OPS to Provide Text Updates & Feedback Opportunities for Emergency & Non-Emergency Callers

Starting January 15, Ottawa Police Service will launch CommunityConnect, a new system to keep residents informed when they call for help. For priority 3 and 4 calls (non-emergency), callers will receive text updates confirming their call, providing a case number, outlining next steps, and notifying if response is delayed. After the call is cleared, a link to an optional feedback survey will be sent in English or French.

Texts will come from 343-803-6032. This initiative aims to improve transparency, reduce uncertainty, and strengthen communication between OPS and the community.
